Brock Purdy, quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, was recently seen outside the team’s facility, taking on a different role as he drove a tractor through the streets of San Francisco. He was joined by his teammate, Colton McKivitz, offensive lineman for the 49ers, as they filmed a commercial for John Deere. This off-field collaboration showcases the camaraderie and diverse interests among players within the NFL community, highlighting their engagement in activities beyond the football field.

The agriculture equipment manufacturer made the wise move to capitalize on Purdy’s viral video from the 49ers’ 2023 bye week in which he and fiancée Jenna Brandt operated a tractor on her family’s farm.
During the 2023 season, it wasn’t the inaugural trip for Purdy and Brandt to Iowa during harvest season. The duo had previously embarked on the same journey back in November of Purdy’s rookie year in the league. This tradition illustrates their commitment to balancing football commitments with personal pursuits, fostering a sense of continuity and connection amidst the demands of an NFL career.
In the 2023 season, Purdy’s salary ranked 40th among the San Francisco 49ers, totaling just under $900,000. Despite his pivotal role in the team’s offensive success, the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement restricts any alterations or extensions to contracts during a player’s initial three seasons. While Purdy’s earnings gradually increase with each year of his contract, he is slated to remain among the roster’s lowest-paid players in 2024. To supplement his income, Purdy has secured partnerships with prominent brands such as Toyota, FedEx, and John Deere, leveraging his status as a standout product of Iowa State University. Given his impressive achievements in his first two NFL seasons, which include leading the 49ers to two NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl appearance, it’s anticipated that more lucrative endorsement opportunities will come his way.
