Van Morrison Reveals Why He’s Skipping the U.S. on His 2025 World Tour
Legendary Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison has revealed the reason behind his decision to exclude the United States from his 2025 tour itinerary. The acclaimed artist, known for classic hits such as Brown Eyed Girl, Moondance, and Into the Mystic, recently announced a slate of international tour dates for next year—but fans in the U.S. were quick to notice that the country was noticeably missing from the list.
In a brief but candid statement, Morrison explained that his decision was due to ongoing frustrations with what he described as “onerous and ever-changing” touring regulations in the U.S., as well as logistical challenges that have made it increasingly difficult for international artists to perform there. While he stopped short of ruling out future American shows entirely, Morrison emphasized that his current focus would be on European and other global venues where conditions are more conducive to live touring.
The announcement has left many longtime American fans disappointed, particularly given Morrison’s deep and storied history of performing across the United States. Throughout his decades-long career, he has consistently drawn large and enthusiastic crowds in major U.S. cities, often selling out iconic venues.
Morrison’s 2025 tour will include performances across the UK, Ireland, and several European countries. His team has indicated that additional dates may be added depending on demand and venue availability.
Despite the absence of U.S. dates, the tour promises to be a celebration of Morrison’s expansive musical legacy, with a setlist likely to span multiple eras of his prolific career. Fans stateside will be hoping for a change of heart—or a future announcement that brings Van the Man back to American stages.
