Guns N’ Roses have officially announced plans to release a brand-new studio album in 2025, ending a nearly two-decade wait for fans longing for a full-length follow-up to 2008’s Chinese Democracy. The news comes as a major milestone for the iconic rock band, whose classic lineup—featuring Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan—reunited in 2016 after years of speculation and anticipation.
Guitarist Slash confirmed the development in a recent interview, stating that the band is actively working on new material. “We’re trying to make a new album,” he revealed, adding that he and the rest of the band are already collaborating in the studio. Though no official release date has been announced, the record is expected to drop sometime in 2025, rekindling excitement among longtime fans and rock enthusiasts.
Since reuniting, Guns N’ Roses have released a handful of standalone singles, including “Absurd,” “Hard Skool,” “Perhaps,” and “The General.” While those tracks gave a taste of the band’s modern sound, the upcoming album will be the first comprehensive project to feature the full reunited lineup in decades, signaling a potential return to their hard rock roots with a modern edge.
In addition to the album announcement, the band has unveiled dates for a massive 2025 world tour titled Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things. Kicking off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on May 23, the tour will span across Europe with performances in major cities like Barcelona, Munich, London, and Warsaw, before concluding at Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival on July 31.
Support for the tour will vary by location, with acts like Public Enemy, Rival Sons, and the Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter joining on select dates. Tickets go on sale to the general public on December 13, with presales beginning December 10 via the Nightrain fan club.
With new music and an ambitious tour ahead, 2025 is poised to be a landmark year for Guns N’ Roses and their global fan base.
