Netflix set to release a documentary about the Legendary band The Doors “We are happy to announce that we are done with production and it will be released on…”
Netflix has officially announced the upcoming release of a highly anticipated documentary chronicling the rise and legacy of one of rock music’s most iconic bands, The Doors. Titled “The Doors: A Storm Upon the Stage,” the film promises an in-depth exploration of the band’s powerful impact on music, culture, and rebellion.
“We are happy to announce that we are done with production and it will be released on September 20, 2025,” the producers confirmed in a joint statement. The release will be exclusive to Netflix and available to audiences around the world.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Rachel Harmon, the documentary combines rare archival footage, newly restored live performances, and never-before-seen interviews with surviving band members John Densmore and Robby Krieger, along with contributions from music historians and fellow artists influenced by the band’s groundbreaking work.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1965, The Doors quickly rose to fame with hits like “Light My Fire,” “Break On Through (To the Other Side),” and “Riders on the Storm.” With Jim Morrison’s haunting vocals and poetic lyrics, the group became symbols of counterculture and artistic defiance during a turbulent time in American history.
“The Doors: A Storm Upon the Stage” offers a fresh look at the creative process behind their most iconic songs, the chemistry that defined their live shows, and the controversies that followed them throughout their short but powerful career. The film also explores Morrison’s complex persona—from rock god to misunderstood poet—and the lasting mythos surrounding his life and untimely death at age 27.
Netflix’s new documentary is more than just a biography—it’s a cinematic tribute to the spirit of a band that forever changed the sound and soul of rock music.
