Nottingham Forest agree personal terms with Matz Sels
The 31-year-old has now agreed a deal with the Belgian goalkeeper and heās ready to fly over to England it would seem.
According toĀ David Ornstein, the Belgian international could be on the move today, with Forest now a possible destination.
The transfer guru claims that personal terms have now been agreed and the player is ready to fly over to England to complete a medical.
However, there is no deal between the two clubs just yet.
Sels has been the number one in Ligue 1 for Strasbourg during the 2023/24 campaign and heās made 19 appearances in total.
Forest are keen on a goalkeeper today, withĀ Matt Turner receiving criticismĀ for his performances of late and Odysseas Vlachodimos failing to make his mark too.
Signing a custodian today looks like a must for Forest if theyāre to stand any chance of staying in the Premier League.
However, the club will want to cut their cloth accordingly, with finances pretty right across the Premier League.
Sels has made six appearances for the Belgian national team and perhaps he would be capable of doing a job for Forest.
The stopper has further experience with Anderlecht, Gent and Lierse and now it appears that heās on the radar of Forest.
Former Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has raved about Sels in the past, calling the goalkeeperĀ āimpeccableāĀ when he was at Newcastle.
Rumour rating: 5/10Ā ā Weāll be honest, weāre not entirely sure what to make of this one.
Sam Johnstone has also been linked with ForestĀ and itās hard to see Sels as an upgrade on the four-time England player.
Still, itād be pretty impressive to be a downgrade on the current goalkeepers and at this stage, itās a case of needs must for Forest.
