“Unveiling a Jaw-Dropping Transformation: Gilbert Street Gets a Captivating New Identity!”

GILBERT, AZ (3TV/CBS 5). Queen Creek native Brock Purdy will be starting at quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday in the Super Bowl

. As the former Perry Puma prepares for Sunday, his high school decided to do something to show their pride. For the next month or so, Perry Puma Drive will now be known as Brock Purdy Way.
“The connection and relationships that he formed here when he was a student are still very strong,” Perry High School principal Heather Patterson said. “And he’s just a great young man.”

Right after Purdy’s Niners completed their comeback against the Packers in the first round of the playoffs, Patterson says people at Perry and throughout the town of Gilbert started planning different ways to show Purdy that here…he’s Purdy special.
“We devised spirit days that had to do with high school and obviously the San Francisco 49ers,” she said. “It’s just been a whirlwind of excitement, and the campus has been electric.”

Tomorrow, the school will be a sea of white. The plan is for every student, teacher, and administrator to wear that ‘Brock Nation’ shirt, designed by Kyle Narducci. You might have guessed it, but Narducci is a Perry graduate.
“We’re true fans, and we are behind Brock 180 percent, rain or shine,” Patterson said. “So we’re here for him, and I know he knows that.”
Purdy’s dad, Shawn, definitely does. He’s got this message for not just the Puma Nation but all Arizonans who have been showing Purdy love this past decade.
“I say when this is over, I want to text Hey Arizona, thank you for supporting Brock,” Shawn told Sports360AZ’s Brad Cesmat. “It has been unbelievable.”

Patterson says the new street signs will remain up for about a month before being taken down, but that there are other future plans in place to celebrate Purdy’s accomplishments.
