“Unbelievable Debut in Champions League Sends Shockwaves – Rangers on Edge of Their Seats!”
Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen instead focused on adding attacking talent, with Fabio Silva, Mohamed Diomande, and Oscar Cortes arriving.
Rangers may focus on defensive additions in the summer, and one Scotland international should still be on the radar.
Rangers must watch Scott McKenna in Champions League action tonight.
There weren’t even many center-back rumors in January, but we did see Scott McKennabeing linked with a move to Ibrox.
Reports suggested that Rangers were in the race to sign McKenna from Nottingham Forest, who paid around £6 million to land him from Aberdeen in 2020.
McKenna’s Forest contract ends this summer, and Rangers may have been eyeing a bargain move to bring McKenna back to Scotland.
Rangers missed out before the deadline, though, as McKenna instead made a shock move to Denmark, joining FC Copenhagen on loan until the summer.
McKenna recently featured for Copenhagen in the Atlantic Cup but will be in at the deep end tonight as Copenhagen face Manchester City in the Champions League.
The Scot will be charged with the task of handling Erling Haaland, and we would expect Rangers to be watching how he gets on in this huge clash.
McKenna is only on loan at Copenhagen, and he will still become a free agent this summer as his Forest deals run out.
Rangers still have a chance to land McKenna in the summer, and he ticks the boxes as a bargain signing with experience in Scottish football while offering a natural left-footed defensive option.
Tonight will be a tough task for McKenna, but Rangers must continue to keep tabs on him and explore a potential summer deal to make him Connor Goldson’s center-back partner.
