In the midst of the transfer war, Liverpool is in advanced talks to sign a top young defender.

Liverpool are pushing ahead with their move for Leny Yoro and compete with a host of top continental clubs for the defender’s signature.  

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Liverpool is keen on Leny Yoro and has been pushing to sign the defender ahead of the summer. The 18-year-old has tremendous interest in his signature, with Real Madrid and Manchester United among those eager to bring him from LOSC Lille.

Liverpool chasing Leny Yoro?

Liverpool are in the market for a new defender. Joel Matip is set to leave the club, and they are keen on a high-quality replacement. Under their new football operations model and incoming manager Arne Slot, the club would also keep the future in mind before making new additions, meaning they are likely to target someone young with a long-term prospect for the club.

Leny Yoro has now emerged as a key target for the Merseysiders, with the 18-year-old also on the radars of some of the top clubs around. Liverpool are reportedly pushing to sign the LOSC Lille star, who, despite his tender age, had a fantastic season in the French top flight, making 32 league appearances.
Liverpool have signed stars like Goncalo Inacio and Willian Pacho in recent weeks, but it may appear that they feel the signing of Yoro could be done rather easily. The 18-year-old enters the final year of his deal and seems destined to leave Lille this summer.
Liverpool will have to fight off competitors, with those including the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester Untied. The Reds have the pull to bring some of the best players from around, and certainly feel the teenager would add massiv value to their project under Arne Slot, starting from next season.

Real Madrid cool Yoro interest?

Manchester United are considered a suitor, and looking at his economic feasibility, they could see Yoro as a big target for the summer. However, the lack of Champions League football and the potential interest from Real Madrid are big thorns for the Red Devils in the pursuit of the 18-year-old defender.
Real Madrid may have cooled their interest, with many reports stating they no longer want to sign him or Alphonso Davies in the summer. If the reports are accurate, then the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool may have a massive chance in the race for Yoro, who seems determined to leave Lille in the summer at all costs.
