Man United feels optimistic as the race to sign a key player heats up with Spurs and Newcastle.

Last week, HITC reported that the defender, whose current deal with Fulham runs out next month, is the subject of a battle between Tottenham, Newcastle, Chelsea and West Ham.

Over the last few days, various sources have suggested that Newcastle are at the front of the queue to secure the Englishman, with Magpies alleged to be making progress in their efforts to sign the player (Fabrizio Romano).

Is the race still open for Tosin Adarabioyo?

BBC Sport have now also confirmed that Eddie Howe is an admirer of the Adarabioyo and that the centre-back is ‘close’ to agreeing a move to St James Park.

However, they make it clear that it is not quite a done deal yet and that other clubs have not given up hope of securing the Fulham star.

They say that Man Utd, in particular, are keen, with the Red Devils continuing to work to beat Newcastle to the player. The report mentions Spurs, Liverpool, and AC Milan as the other clubs circling over the Englishman.
