“I’m Watching A Lot Of The Sopranos Right Now…” David Boreanaz Previews His Next Project Following SEAL Team’s Season 7 Finale…

David Boreanaz Teases His Next Series After SEAL Team Ends With Season 7

David Boreanaz reveals that he’s been watching a lot of The Sopranos as prep for his next show after SEAL Team season 7.
Boreanaz says the new show isn’t mafia-related, but it could feature nice suits and cars.
Boreanaz’s next show could be drastically different from SEAL Team in tone and subject matter, meaning it’s unclear if the CBS show’s audience will follow.
SEAL Team star David Boreanaz teases his next TV show after season 7 wraps up the military drama. First airing on CBS in 2017, the hit action series stars Boreanaz as Jason Hayes, the leader of the elite Bravo Team, who leads his squad on various high-stakes missions around the globe. After a popular run of 6 seasons, SEAL Team season 7 is now set to bring the series to a close.

During a recent appearance at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival (via Variety), Boreanaz teases what his next TV project will be after wrapping up work on SEAL Team season 7. He reveals that he is developing a new series as a writer that he could potentially also star in and produce, but he doesn’t let slip any titles or plot information. “I am watching a lot of The Sopranos right now,” he teased. He later clarified, however, that the new series is not about the mafia, saying only: “You know what, I love suits, I love style, I love cars.”

David Boreanaz’s Next Project Could Be Totally Different From SEAL Team
What Will His Next Show Be Like?

Throughout its 6 seasons, SEAL Team has featured one gritty adventure after another. While the series isn’t overly graphic in its violence or mature subject matter, it’s certainly a serious show that tackles some serious themes. Much of this is due to its exploration of the U.S. Special Forces and the types of missions that these elite soldiers carry out around the world.

If Boreanaz’s next show leaves the military behind, audiences could be in for a very different type of series that is perhaps lighter in tone. Boreanaz’s comment suggests his next series after SEAL Team season 7 could be much more stylish and maybe a little more fun. His comment about liking suits and fancy cars could suggest his next show takes place more in the world of business, akin to something like Suits, Billions, or Industry.

A SEAL Team movie was originally in development to conclude the show, but this project was revealed to have been scrapped in November 2023.

What remains to be seen, however, is whether the SEAL Team audience would accompany Boreanaz to whatever his new show will be. If it’s a drastic departure, after all, that leaves behind SEAL Team’s exploration of the military, serious tone, and more everyman American characters, it just might not appeal to these same viewers. It remains to be seen what Boreanaz’s next show will be after SEAL Team, but it’s certainly sounding like audiences shouldn’t expect a similar type of series.

SEAL Team is a Military Drama and Action series created by Benjamin Cavell that began in 2017 and has been through 6 seasons. The series follows Jason Hayes (played by David Boreanaz) as the leader of a Navy Seals team who is sent to a variety of locations to help protect the United States.
