TADEJ POGACAR (UAE TEAM EMIRATES): “SOMETIMES I DON’T KNOW THE REASON WHY I ATTACK
Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates has always been known for his aggressive and unpredictable racing style, which often leaves both fans and competitors in awe. In a candid moment, Pogačar revealed a glimpse into his mindset, stating, “Sometimes I don’t know the reason why I attack.”
Pogačar’s impulsive and instinctive attacks have become a signature part of his racing strategy. While many cyclists meticulously plan their moves based on data and team tactics, Pogačar often relies on his gut feeling and situational awareness. “Cycling is as much about feeling as it is about numbers. There are moments when I just feel that it’s the right time to go, even if I can’t explain why,” he explained.
This spontaneity has made Pogačar a formidable opponent. His unpredictability forces other riders to stay on high alert, never knowing when he might launch his next attack. “It keeps things exciting and dynamic. If I feel strong and see an opportunity, I go for it. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t, but it’s always a part of the race,” Pogačar added.
Pogačar’s approach has yielded significant success, including two Tour de France titles. His ability to seize the moment and capitalize on the weaknesses of his rivals has earned him a reputation as one of the most exciting cyclists in the peloton. However, this style also requires immense physical and mental resilience, as it demands constant readiness to respond to the ever-changing dynamics of a race.
His teammates and rivals alike respect his intuition-driven strategy. “Tadej’s attacks are something we always have to be prepared for. His instincts on the bike are incredible, and he can change the course of a race in an instant,” commented one of his peers.
As the Tour de France continues, fans can expect more of Pogačar’s spontaneous and thrilling attacks. Whether driven by a strategic plan or a sudden impulse, his racing style ensures that every stage remains unpredictable and exciting.
