Jett Lawrence Sets Fastest Qualifying Time at MXOpen for Australia in MXoN
Jett Lawrence, the Australian motocross prodigy, delivered a masterclass performance at the 2024 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN), leading Team Australia to a stunning first-place victory. After setting the fastest qualifying time in the MXOpen, Lawrence carried that momentum into the main event, propelling Australia to the top of the podium in a thrilling competition.
The 21-year-old star was in peak form, dominating his individual races and contributing crucial points for Australia. With Lawrence at the helm, Team Australia showcased a remarkable combination of speed, strategy, and consistency to clinch the victory, marking a historic achievement for the nation at the prestigious event.
Team Australia, backed by the stellar performances of its riders, finished ahead of Team USA, who secured second place. Team USA, boasting a strong lineup, fought hard throughout the weekend, but ultimately couldn’t match the pace and precision of Lawrence and his teammates. The Australian squad’s collective effort, spearheaded by Lawrence’s exceptional riding, proved to be the winning formula.
After the race, Lawrence expressed his elation with the result. “Winning MXoN is an absolute dream come true, especially with the team we had this year. Everyone put in their best effort, and to see Australia on top of the world is just incredible,” said Lawrence. “The competition was tough, especially from Team USA, but we stayed focused and brought it home.”
Team USA, who have a storied history at the MXoN, were gracious in their second-place finish, acknowledging Australia’s dominant performance. Despite their efforts, the speed and consistency of Lawrence’s riding in the MXOpen made the difference, securing Australia’s first-place finish and the prestigious Chamberlain Trophy.
With Lawrence’s standout performance and Australia’s first-ever MXoN win, the 2024 edition of the event will be remembered as a landmark moment in motocross history, not only for Australia but for the global motocross community.
