“Respectful” Dockers ready to swoop on Tiger: AFL trade news

Fremantle Dockers have expressed keen interest in securing the services of Richmond premiership player Liam Baker, particularly if his anticipated deal with West Coast Eagles does not come to fruition. According to Dockers football boss Joe Brierty, the club is keeping a close watch on Baker’s situation and is well-positioned to swoop in should the opportunity arise.

Baker, a versatile and highly regarded player, has indicated a preference for joining West Coast if he were to depart Richmond. However, Fremantle are confident that they have both the resources and the desire to bring Baker to their ranks, should his negotiations with the Eagles falter.

In addition to Baker, the Dockers are also monitoring the future of Shai Bolton, another key player from Richmond’s lineup. The potential to secure both Baker and Bolton would bolster Fremantle’s roster significantly as they continue to build towards future success.

Brierty acknowledged the club’s intentions, stating, “We’re monitoring the situation closely. We’ve got the flexibility to make a serious play for players of Baker and Bolton’s calibre. It’s about waiting for the right moment, and we’ll be ready.”

The Fremantle Dockers have reportedly expressed interest in securing the services of Richmond Tigers star Shai Bolton in a potential move that could bolster their midfield and forward line. Bolton, known for his explosive pace, agility, and goal-scoring ability, has been a standout player for the Tigers, and Fremantle’s pursuit of him signals their ambition to strengthen their roster ahead of the 2024 season. With Bolton’s dynamic style of play, this potential acquisition could give the Dockers a significant boost as they aim for higher standings in the AFL competition.

While West Coast may still be the front-runner for Baker’s signature, Fremantle’s readiness to strike could make the coming weeks pivotal in determining the future destination of one of the AFL’s most adaptable players.
