Eli Tomac reflected on his intense first moto at the Motocross of Nations (MXoN), where he had to battle not only fierce competition but also a bloody nose. Going head-to-head with Tim Gajser, Tomac shared his thoughts after the race, saying, “I was stressing out big time, it was scary. It was a bummer though because I was making a good push to Gajser.”
Tomac explained that the unexpected nosebleed made it harder to focus during the crucial race. “It was a real challenge, something I wasn’t prepared for. When you’re racing at that speed, any distraction can throw you off. I was trying to stay composed and keep pushing, but it was tough.”
Despite the discomfort, Tomac fought hard to maintain his pace. He was steadily closing the gap on Gajser, who was leading the moto. “I felt I had the pace to catch Gajser,” Tomac said. “It’s frustrating because I was really finding my rhythm and gaining ground. If it weren’t for that issue, I think I could have made a real fight for the lead.”
Tomac’s determination didn’t go unnoticed, as he still finished the moto in a strong position despite the setback. His resilience under pressure was impressive, particularly against a world-class rider like Gajser.
Looking forward, Tomac remained optimistic. “It’s all part of racing—things like that happen. You have to push through, learn from it, and move on. I’m still proud of the effort, and I’ll be ready for the next challenge.”
Tomac’s grit and ability to fight through adversity once again proved why he’s one of the top motocross riders in the world. Fans are eagerly anticipating his next battle on the track.
