Webb Cooper Sends a Bold Message to Jett Lawrence as They Set to Compete in the Supercross de Paris
American riders Cooper Webb and Malcolm Stewart will join Australia’s Jett and Hunter Lawrence, as well as France’s Dylan Ferrandis, in the Paris Supercross on November 16 and 17 at the Paris La Défense Arena. The international event will also feature SuperMotocross regulars Jo Shimoda (Japan) and Tom Vialle (France) in the SX2 (250) division. This will be the 41st edition of the prestigious race.
Defending champions Jett Lawrence and Jo Shimoda will carry the iconic red, No. 1 plate in their respective classes. Lawrence arrives at the event fresh off his SuperMotocross World Championship title, while Shimoda finished fourth overall in that series, narrowly missing third place by a single point behind Pierce Brown.
Cooper Webb, meanwhile, is aiming to extend America’s record of 26 Paris Supercross victories. When asked about the Lawrence brothers by journalists, Webb smiled and said, “What happened in the MXoN won’t happen here in Paris, because I’m here to win, not to take second place.” His comment hinted at lingering feelings from the recent Motocross of Nations, where Team Australia, led by the Lawrence brothers, clinched the championship and pushed Webb and Team USA to second.
Several riders competing in Paris have already been active on the international stage during the offseason between the 2024 and 2025 SuperMotocross series. The Lawrence brothers led Team Australia to their Motocross of Nations victory, while Webb helped Team USA secure second place. Vialle also competed, finishing fifth overall with Team France.
The Paris Supercross will feature riders from six countries in the 450 division, while the 250 class (SX2) will be dominated by French talent, with nine riders from the SX2 French Championship selected to compete alongside the seven international riders.
