Alexander Zverev admits he is ‘not happy’ with career and vows to make changes for 2025…
Zverev’s career reached a high point in 2020 when he made his first Grand Slam final at the US Open, where he narrowly lost to Dominic Thiem. He followed that with a gold medal in doubles at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and a semi-final run at the French Open. However, his performances since then have been inconsistent, with injuries, including a serious ankle injury that sidelined him for much of 2022, affecting his ability to maintain his form.
As he reflects on his career so far, Zverev has acknowledged that he is far from satisfied with where he stands, especially given the expectations that surrounded him as one of the new generation of players poised to challenge the dominance of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. His form has been up and down, with some strong performances but also early exits in key tournaments. Zverev himself has expressed frustration with his inability to break through and claim more major titles.
Looking ahead to 2025, Zverev is determined to make adjustments to his game and his mental approach. He is committed to putting in the work required to reach the next level, focusing on refining his game and improving his consistency. As one of the most talented players of his generation, Zverev still has time to achieve his goals, and the upcoming years could prove pivotal in determining his legacy in the sport.
