The 2024 Motocross of Nations proved to be a challenging event for Team USA riders Eli Tomac, Aaron Plessinger, and Cooper Webb. Each of them reflected on the highs and lows of their performances at the prestigious international event.
Eli Tomac, one of the sport’s most seasoned riders, expressed a mix of pride and disappointment. “It’s always an honor to represent the U.S. on a global stage, but this wasn’t the outcome we wanted,” he said, emphasizing how fiercely competitive the event was and how much pressure comes with representing one’s country.
Aaron Plessinger echoed Tomac’s sentiments, acknowledging the difficulty of the terrain and the intensity of the other teams. “We gave it our all out there. Every race was a battle, and it’s tough when things don’t go your way,” he stated. Plessinger also spoke about the camaraderie within the team and how they pushed each other through the grueling races. “It’s a learning experience, and we’ll be back stronger.”
Cooper Webb, known for his fierce determination, was candid in his reflection. “We had moments where we were close to pulling off something special, but we also faced some setbacks,” Webb said. Despite the challenges, Webb maintained an optimistic outlook, saying that competing alongside his teammates was “a great experience.” He added, “There’s always room for improvement, and we’ll take the lessons from this year to build on for the future.”
The riders were united in their belief that despite the struggles, the 2024 Motocross of Nations was a valuable experience, and they are already looking ahead to future competitions with a renewed focus.
