Liverpool legend John Barnes has suggested a future transfer that could provide a potential successor for Mohamed Salah. The former Reds winger thinks Wolves’ Pedro Neto would suit Liverpool and that owners FSG should target the winger, who has a similar profile to that of the Egyptian star.
Neto, 23, has been linked with a number of top clubs before following impressive form in the Premier League. He has contributed to 10 goals in 14 league matches this season.
A compatriot ofDiogo Jotawho also emerged at Wolves, he would join the club’s other Portuguese speakers, such asAlisson. It looks as though some are starting to see him as a player that Liverpool should consider making a move for in the summer.
Speaking about the Portugal international to MyBettingSites, Barnes said, “I’ve always liked Pedro Neto. I always liked him. If you’re looking for the profile of a winger that would suit Liverpool down to the ground, that winger is Pedro Neto.
“He would suit Liverpool more than any other club. He’s direct, and he’s quick. He’s a bit like Mo Salah, where he’s direct and always plays well.”
Barnes also touched upon Neto’s recent injury problems, which he has overcome to find form this season. He added, “He’s had his injury issues, which have held him back, but you can see that he can play for any of the top clubs.”
