Eli Tomac on his next race as he Eyes Victory at Tampa Supercross as Jett Lawrence’s Season Ends Early’s
As the 2025 Supercross season progresses, Eli Tomac is gearing up for the upcoming round in Tampa, Florida, with a clear focus on clinching victory. Currently, Tomac holds the fourth position in the 450SX standings, trailing behind Ken Roczen, Chase Sexton, and Jett Lawrence. A strong performance in Tampa could significantly bolster his championship campaign.
Tomac’s determination is further fueled by his recent announcement that the 2025 season will be his final year of professional SuperMotocross racing. He stated, “I anticipate 2025 being my final full season of professional SMX racing. While the last two Supercross seasons have had unfortunate endings with injury, we’ve had many more great race wins, and championships along the way. So now is the time to enjoy the ride, get back to winning races and competing for the SuperMotocross title.”
The competitive landscape has shifted with the unfortunate early conclusion of Jett Lawrence’s season. Lawrence suffered a significant knee injury during the Glendale Supercross event, leading to a torn ACL and a minor meniscus tear. He underwent surgery and is now sidelined for the remainder of the season. Reflecting on the setback, Lawrence expressed, “I’m very upset to let the fans down and can’t wait to be back.”
Lawrence’s absence opens up opportunities for other top contenders, including Tomac, to capitalize on the evolving championship dynamics. With his extensive experience and a renewed sense of purpose in his final season, Tomac is poised to make a significant impact in Tampa. Fans can anticipate an intense and thrilling performance as he strives to secure a pivotal victory in his quest for the championship.
