Elitomac Reflects on Tough Start, Eyes Glendale Recovery
Eli Tomac, a seasoned Supercross champion, has faced an unexpectedly tough start to the 2025 season. After a series of setbacks in the opening rounds, including a few uncharacteristic finishes outside the podium, the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider is looking to turn things around in Glendale.
Tomac, known for his resilience and ability to bounce back from adversity, acknowledged the challenges he’s encountered so far. “It hasn’t been the start we wanted, but we’re staying focused,” he said. “There’s a lot of racing left, and I know we have the speed to be up front.”
A combination of minor mistakes and stiff competition has made the early rounds more difficult than anticipated. However, Tomac remains confident in his program, highlighting the improvements made during testing and mid-week training sessions. “We’ve been dialing in the bike setup, and I feel like we’re in a much better place heading into Glendale,” he added.
Glendale presents a prime opportunity for Tomac to regain momentum. The State Farm Stadium track is traditionally one of the fastest on the calendar, favoring riders with strong speed and precision—both of which Tomac has in abundance. With a history of success at the venue, he’s optimistic about putting together a strong performance.
The championship battle remains wide open, and a solid result in Glendale could quickly shift the momentum in Tomac’s favor. As he prepares for the weekend, his focus is clear: get back on the box and reestablish himself as a title contender.
“I’m looking forward to a fresh start this weekend,” Tomac said. “We’ve got work to do, but I’m ready to fight for it.”
With his determination and experience, few would count him out of making a strong comeback. Glendale could be the turning point he needs to get his championship hopes back on track.
