Tadej Pogačar capped off an extraordinary season by winning his third consecutive Il Lombardia title, further solidifying his reputation as one of cycling’s greats. In 2023, Pogačar enjoyed a year marked by consistency and dominance across multiple races, but his victory in the 2024 edition of Il Lombardia felt like a fitting bookend to a campaign that began with similar brilliance.
Reflecting on his season, Pogačar remarked, “I finished the season as I started it,” underscoring his remarkable ability to maintain form throughout the year. His triumph at Il Lombardia was a statement of both physical and tactical prowess, as he managed to outclass a strong field of competitors on the demanding climbs of northern Italy.
