The dawn of a new chapter for Aprilia Racing commenced with great anticipation as the Italian manufacturer welcomed Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi into its fold. The two young MotoGP talents officially began their journey with Aprilia on the first day of pre-season testing, marking a significant step in the brand’s quest to further establish itself as a championship contender.
The move to secure Martín and Bezzecchi, both of whom demonstrated immense potential in the previous season, signals Aprilia’s intent to challenge the sport’s elite. Martín, known for his aggressive riding style and precision, brings with him a reputation as a fierce competitor. Meanwhile, Bezzecchi, lauded for his consistency and adaptability, offers a complementary skillset, creating a dynamic pairing for Aprilia’s factory team.
The first day of testing was a blend of acclimatization and technical evaluation. Both riders took time to familiarize themselves with the RS-GP bike, a machine that has seen consistent development in recent years. Engineers worked closely with Martín and Bezzecchi to gather initial feedback on ergonomics, power delivery, and handling characteristics.
For Martín, the session was about finding the right rhythm with the bike. “It’s a new challenge, but the RS-GP feels promising. The team is incredibly supportive, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together,” he said.
Bezzecchi echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting the bike’s potential. “There’s a lot to learn, but I already feel comfortable. Aprilia has done a great job, and I’m looking forward to building on this foundation,” he added.
As the day concluded, Aprilia’s management expressed satisfaction with the progress. The test served as the foundation for what promises to be a thrilling season, with both riders eager to push the limits and bring Aprilia closer to MotoGP glory.
With Martín and Bezzecchi on board, the “new” Aprilia seems poised to deliver a strong statement in the upcoming championship.
