Giants Legend Mike Krukow Signs Two-Year Extension, Ensuring “Kruk and Kuip” Duo Through 2028
The San Francisco Giants have announced that longtime color commentator Mike Krukow has signed a two-year contract extension, ensuring that the beloved “Kruk and Kuip” broadcast team will continue through at least the 2028 season.
Krukow, a former Giants pitcher, has been a mainstay in the Giants’ broadcast booth for over three decades, forming one of Major League Baseball’s most iconic broadcasting duos alongside play-by-play announcer Duane Kuiper. The pair, affectionately known as “Kruk and Kuip” by fans, have been calling Giants games together since 1994, providing not only expert analysis but also a unique camaraderie that has endeared them to generations of baseball fans.
Krukow’s career as a Giants broadcaster follows a successful playing career, during which he pitched for the team from 1983 to 1989. After his retirement from the game, he quickly transitioned to the broadcast booth, where his insightful commentary and engaging personality made him an instant fan favorite.
Duane Kuiper, who himself played for the Giants in the early 1980s, has been the Giants’ primary play-by-play announcer since 1986, and his partnership with Krukow is often cited as one of the best in baseball broadcasting. Their chemistry, humor, and love for the game have made them a beloved part of the Giants’ family, and their continued presence will be welcomed by fans for years to come.
The extension ensures that the “Kruk and Kuip” era will continue through the 2028 season, much to the delight of the Giants’ faithful, who have come to cherish the familiar voices that have been a soundtrack to some of the franchise’s most memorable moments, including the team’s three World Series titles in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
As Krukow’s new contract solidifies his future in the booth, Giants fans can look forward to at least four more seasons of one of the most cherished broadcast duos in baseball.
