Guns N’ Roses has announced Isaac Carpenter as their new drummer, following the amicable departure of Frank Ferrer after a 19-year tenure. Here is why

Isaac Carpenter, 45, hails from Washington’s Tri-Cities and has built a reputation in the alternative and hard rock scenes. He co-founded the group Loudermilk in 1995, which later evolved into Gosling, showcasing his versatility as a drummer and songwriter. Over the years, Carpenter has collaborated with notable acts such as Adam Lambert, Awolnation, and A Perfect Circle. Notably, this new role reunites him with Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, as both previously performed together in the band Loaded.

Frank Ferrer, who joined Guns N’ Roses in June 2006, played his final show with the band on November 5, 2023, in Mexico. The band expressed gratitude for Ferrer’s contributions, acknowledging his steady presence and creativity throughout his tenure.

Carpenter’s inaugural performances with Guns N’ Roses are slated for their 2025 European, Asian, and Middle East Tour, during which the band will headline various stadiums and festivals throughout the summer.

This lineup change occurs as Guns N’ Roses prepares for a significant year. Guitarist Slash has indicated that 2025 will be heavily focused on the band’s activities. Additionally, the band is set to participate in Black Sabbath’s “Back to the Beginning” farewell show in July 2025, sharing the stage with other prominent artists.
