Jett Lawrence, one of the brightest young talents in motocross, recently shared his deep admiration for Eli Tomac, revealing that since the age of 10, his dream has been to emulate Tomac’s success. “All I wanted since age 10 was to be like Eli Tomac,” Lawrence said, emphasizing how much Tomac has influenced his path in the sport. “He is my biggest inspiration.”
Growing up watching Tomac dominate the motocross world, Lawrence found a role model who embodied everything he aspired to be. Tomac’s tenacity, work ethic, and ability to consistently perform at the highest level left a lasting impact on the young Australian rider. Lawrence would study Tomac’s every move on the track, hoping to learn from his precise handling, aggressive style, and relentless drive.
“From the time I first saw him race, I knew that’s what I wanted,” Lawrence explained. “He was always at the top of his game, pushing harder when others were struggling, and that’s what I admire most about him.” Lawrence, now a rising champion himself, credits much of his own development to following Tomac’s career closely and using his idol’s success as motivation.
Even as Lawrence has grown into a formidable competitor, winning titles and setting his own records, he still looks up to Tomac as a benchmark for excellence. “He’s the reason I push myself so hard,” Lawrence admitted. “Eli set the bar, and every time I race, I try to meet or exceed that standard.”
Lawrence’s admiration for Tomac has helped shape his own career, driving him to work tirelessly to become one of the sport’s next great champions, just like the rider he has idolized since childhood.
