Jett Lawrence’s Message to Eli Tomac After MXoN 2024 Victory Has Motocross Fans Talking
In a thrilling showdown at the 2024 Motocross of Nations (MXoN), Team Australia emerged victorious, securing the coveted Chamberlain Trophy for the first time in history. However, even in triumph, Australia’s Jett Lawrence had nothing but respect and admiration for Team USA and its leader, Eli Tomac.
After clinching the title alongside teammates Hunter Lawrence and Mitch Evans, Jett Lawrence made headlines with his heartfelt message directed toward Eli Tomac, who has long been a dominant figure in motocross. Despite Team USA finishing second behind Australia, Lawrence was quick to acknowledge the American squad’s tenacity and talent.
“To win MXoN is a dream come true for us, but I have to give massive credit to Eli and Team USA,” Lawrence said during the post-race press conference. “Eli is one of the greatest to ever do it, and he’s shown that again this weekend. Even though they came up short, the way he leads his team and rides with such determination is something we all admire.”
Tomac, who battled through injury and adversity over the past season, was instrumental in keeping Team USA in the hunt for the title. Despite Australia’s historic win, Lawrence emphasized the impact Tomac continues to have on the sport and how much younger riders, including himself, look up to him.
“I’ve looked up to Eli for a long time,” Lawrence added. “He’s always been a benchmark for us younger guys. What he’s done for Team USA and the sport as a whole is incredible. To compete against him is an honor, and we all have a lot of respect for him.”
The 2024 edition of the MXoN was highly anticipated, with Australia and the USA coming in as top contenders. The event did not disappoint, with both nations delivering high-caliber performances across the three motos. Lawrence’s stunning rides helped solidify Australia’s lead, but he remained gracious in victory, acknowledging the fierce competition Team USA brought to the track.
“Eli and the whole USA team pushed us to the limit,” Lawrence noted. “It was a fight from start to finish, and that’s what makes winning it feel even more special. They’re a class act, and I know they’ll be back even stronger next year.”
With the conclusion of MXoN 2024, motocross fans are already looking ahead to next season. While Team Australia basks in their historic win, the camaraderie and mutual respect between riders like Jett Lawrence and Eli Tomac continue to remind fans why the sport is so special.
In a sport defined by grit and competition, Lawrence’s words exemplified the sportsmanship and admiration that extends beyond the results on the track.

So long as he stays healthy, Jett will go down in history as one of the very best, if not the best, to have ever thrown a leg over a bike. To give credit to and honor ET just shows the type of man he has become and the type of champion Honda should be proud of. Dazzy and Mom did one hell of a job raising those 3 boys…they should be proud. Hope no one makes the mistake Jett is all fun and giggles…he’s got a great public personna, but on the track, that boys’ as much of a killer as Et, RC, RV2, JS7 and many, many others ever were.
