Manager Claims Guns N’ Roses Guitarists Once Swallowed an Entire Stash To Avoid Airport Security
In a wild tale fitting the legendary chaos of Guns N’ Roses, a former manager has claimed that members of the band once went to extreme lengths to dodge airport security—by swallowing an entire stash of illicit substances.
According to the ex-manager, who worked closely with the band during their meteoric rise in the late ’80s and early ’90s, the incident occurred during an international tour when the group was traveling between countries known for strict drug laws. Facing the looming threat of customs inspections and sniffer dogs, one of the band’s guitarists allegedly took matters into his own hands—or rather, his own stomach.
“It was either lose the stash or lose the tour,” the manager recounted. “We were all panicking. Security was tight, and there was no way it was getting past the dogs. Then [the guitarist] just looked at us, grabbed the bag, and swallowed the whole thing like it was a handful of candy.”
While the manager didn’t name names, speculation immediately points to either Slash or Izzy Stradlin, the band’s two prominent axemen during their heyday—both of whom had well-documented brushes with substance abuse during the band’s most tumultuous years.
The manager claimed the plan surprisingly worked. The band made it through customs without incident, and the guitarist in question reportedly passed the stash a day or two later, unharmed, though quite shaken.
Fans of the notoriously rowdy rock band may not be surprised by the story, which fits perfectly into Guns N’ Roses’ mythos of rebellion, excess, and unpredictability. From late shows to onstage brawls and public scandals, the group’s legacy has always been as much about their outrageous behavior as their groundbreaking music.
No official response has been issued by the band or their representatives, and it remains unclear whether the story is a rock ‘n’ roll exaggeration or a bizarre reality.
