WHAT REALLY TRANSPIRED
Pundits like Roy Keane and Paul Ince have been critical of Bruno Fernandes body language as Manchester United captain. They believe his constant complaints and sniping at referees are not beneficial for the team. However, the Manchester United captain believes that the main reason for the criticism is the drop in his goals and assists output compared to his impressive start at Old Trafford.
Roy Keane, a legendary Manchester United captain, has been a strong critic of Bruno Fernandes ever since he became captain of the club. Keane criticized Fernandes for giving a penalty to Marcus Rashford during the match against Everton. similarly, Paul Ince has also expressed his disapproval, stating that Fernandes tends to make everything about himself instead of rallying for his teammates, as a true captain should.
FERNANDES REPLIED
Bruno Fernandes told a reporter during a press conference that its obvious that no one loves to be criticized but regardless, he is open to criticism. he further stated that at same time, such criticism should be done fair and squarely and not out of hate. He also stated that all he has been doing, is for the good and betterment of the team, and will continue to do so despite the harsh criticism he has been receiving. Fernandes added: ” I know since i arrived at the club my numbers made myself a target so not keeping the same numbers on goal and assist is sometimes a problem for me in the criticism because they are going to take from there. Now is the captaincy, there is gonna be always something. Now my focus is on the team, the staff, everyone who works with me day by day, i think they are pretty happy with me, the way I am is the same since i arrived at the club , it has not changed since being captain. I do not think it has to change. I am, really open with everyone so no one until now has had a problem with me, so i think i should keep like that, everyone is pretty happy with my leadership.”
