“Not too concerned about money?” Paul McCartney says as he celebrates another milestone and his lifelong connection to The Beatles.

He’s a Very Wealthy Man, But Can Money Buy Him Love?

Paul McCartney has become the first British musician to reach billionaire status, with an estimated net worth of $1.27 billion. This achievement landed the legendary 81-year-old former Beatle on The Sunday Times Rich List released on Friday.

McCartney, who joined John Lennon’s band The Quarrymen in 1957 at just 15, is now the only member of The Beatles to achieve billionaire status. The group evolved into The Beatles, adding Ringo Starr and George Harrison, and they performed together from 1960 to 1970.

Sir Paul, who was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997, shares his wealth with his wife, Nancy Shevell, 64, the daughter of late trucking magnate Mike Shevell. The couple, married in 2011, ranks 165th on the Rich List.

The “Can’t Buy Me Love” singer has been incredibly busy. His extensive catalog from the Beatlemania era and the success of his 2022-23 Got Back tour have significantly boosted his finances.

McCartney, who is known for his work with The Beatles and later with Wings, has been described as a “workaholic” by Ringo Starr, who credited him with the band’s prolific output. Between 1963 and 1970, The Beatles released 12 studio albums, making them the best-selling band in history.

Recently, McCartney received a nod from Beyoncé, who covered “Blackbird” on her album “Cowboy Carter,” released in March. A new Beatles track, “Now and Then,” was also released in November and topped charts worldwide.

With 17 studio albums to his name, McCartney reportedly earns $400,000 to $600,000 annually from royalties for his solo hit “Wonderful Christmastime” alone. He is also the founder of MPL Communications, established in 1969, which manages the rights to over 25,000 songs. Approximately $63 million of their wealth is attributed to Shevell.
