The Revenge of Alice Cooper: Band Reunites for First Album Together Since 1973’s Muscle of Love
In a long-awaited return to the classic lineup, The Revenge of Alice Cooper marks the first full-length studio LP by the original Alice Cooper band since 1973’s Muscle of Love. Released to eager fans and critics alike, the new album reestablishes the creative synergy that once defined the group’s signature shock-rock sound.
The Alice Cooper group, originally composed of Vincent Furnier (who would later adopt “Alice Cooper” as his solo stage name), Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith, and the late Glen Buxton, made a lasting mark on rock music in the early 1970s with a string of provocative, theatrical albums. Their 1973 swan song, Muscle of Love, served as a final statement before the band disbanded and Furnier launched a solo career under the same moniker.
After decades of separation, The Revenge of Alice Cooper finds surviving members Bruce, Dunaway, and Smith once again collaborating with Furnier. The album merges vintage Alice Cooper theatrics with modern production, weaving in themes of vengeance, mortality, and reflection—fitting for a band returning to their roots after more than fifty years.
Early reviews have praised the album’s return to hard rock form, noting that tracks such as “Dead Don’t Lie” and “Curtain Call” echo the sinister playfulness of earlier classics like School’s Out and Billion Dollar Babies. While it pays homage to the band’s past, the album also brings new depth and maturity, a testament to the members’ individual and collective growth over the years.
More than just a nostalgic exercise, The Revenge of Alice Cooper stands as a bold reaffirmation of the band’s identity. With this reunion record, the original lineup proves that they still have the grit, imagination, and dark humor that first made them legends.
