Various reliable sources, including Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, have claimed over the last couple of months that Spurs are keen on adding a number six to their squad and that Ederson is one of the names at the top of their wishlist.
Tottenham’s interest in the Brazilian was also backed up a few weeks ago by Fabrizio Romano but he insisted that a deal for the player would prove very complicated to pull off for the North London side (GiveMeSport).
Spurs are not the only ones thought to be eyeing the 24-year-old, with the likes of Atletico Madrid (Marca), Barcelona (Mundo Deportivo) and Manchester United (Goal) also credited with an interest in the player.
Ederson stars in Europa League Final amid Spurs links
Football Italia handed the midfielder a rating of 8/10 match rating and praised him for a dominant performance in midfield. They wrote: “A dominant force for Atalanta, the 24-year-old was all over the pitch, pressing with intensity and shutting things down in the centre, proving a frustrating figure for Bayer Leverkusen.”
Euro Sport Italy gave Ederson an 8.5/10 and labelled him as a ‘truly sensational’ midfielder. The outlet stated: “As in Rome with Juventus, he is the best there in the Dea’s middle. He starts with personality even in the first minutes, which are a bit confusing.
“He has physique and quality, always cleans up with two touches and dirties all the second balls. A truly sensational midfielder. There has been much talk in the market about Koopmeiners and his goals, but in this fairytale of the Dea, Ederson has played a leading role throughout the season.”
Finally, Sky Sports Italy, rated the 24-year-old’s display a 9/10, only second behind Atalanta’s hat-trick hero Ademola Lookman.
Spurs Web Opinion
If Tottenham’s pursuit of Ederson was complicated before, it just became considerably more challenging after the midfielder’s display in Dublin. Not only would that performance attract the attention of more clubs but it would also likely convince Atalanta to increase their asking price.
