Tadej Pogačar, the two-time Tour de France winner and cycling sensation, has confirmed his plans to return to the UAE Tour in 2025, marking his first appearance at the race in two years. In a recent interview, Pogačar shared his excitement about starting the season at the UAE Tour, a race that has played a significant role in his career, helping him establish himself as one of the best riders in the world.

“I’ve not attended the UAE Tour in two years, but I’ll go there again at the start of the season,” Pogačar revealed. “It’s a special race for me, not just because of my team, but because of the great memories I have from there.” The UAE Tour, which takes place in February, has historically been one of Pogačar’s key early-season races, and his return will undoubtedly draw attention as he prepares for another challenging season.

Pogačar’s decision to return to the UAE Tour highlights his commitment to his team, UAE Team Emirates, which is based in the United Arab Emirates. His performances at the race have been impressive in the past, including overall victories in 2021 and 2022, where he demonstrated his climbing prowess and early-season form. “It’s a great way to kick off the season and test my legs before the big races ahead,” he said.

Looking ahead, Pogačar also confirmed that his main goal for 2025 will be the Tour de France, where he aims to reclaim the title after narrowly missing out in recent years to his rival, Jonas Vingegaard. “The UAE Tour will be part of my preparation for the Tour de France, which remains my biggest focus next year,” Pogačar stated.

His return to the UAE Tour will be eagerly anticipated by fans and rivals alike, as Pogačar looks to build momentum ahead of the Grand Tours and continue his journey toward further greatness in the cycling world. With the UAE Tour serving as his launchpad, 2025 promises to be another exciting year for the Slovenian superstar.
