Today marks a special day for UAE-based cyclists as they gather to be inspired by the presence of UAE Team Emirates, the team that has brought pride and visibility to cycling in the region. For the fourth consecutive year, Tadej Pogačar, the team’s star rider and one of the most accomplished cyclists in the world, shared his story, insights, and successes with local cycling enthusiasts. His journey, filled with victories at the Tour de France and numerous classic races, serves as a powerful motivation for cyclists here, showing them what’s possible through dedication and hard work.
Reflecting on this day, it’s not only inspiring but personal, as it’s been exactly four years since I began road cycling myself, in 2021. That year was a pivotal one, both for UAE cycling and for me. Seeing Pogačar dominate on the world stage sparked my own passion for the sport, and since then, he’s been a continuous source of encouragement. Every year since, capturing moments from this event has been a tradition, creating a visual timeline of my own cycling journey and my connection to the sport.
Looking back at the photos from these four years, each one holds memories of Tadej’s talks, tips, and shared experiences. From the early days when I was just finding my feet in the cycling world, to now, as I’ve grown more confident and capable, these snapshots remind me of how far I’ve come and the inspiration that has fueled me along the way. Each year’s photo with Tadej and the team is a marker of progress—a reminder of why I started and the dreams I continue to chase.
Being part of a cycling community that values passion and progress is something I cherish deeply. Today, as I add another photo to my collection, I feel grateful for the motivation, the learning, and the camaraderie that comes from these meet-ups with UAE Team Emirates and Tadej Pogačar himself. Here’s to many more years of cycling, collecting memories, and finding new reasons to love the sport, thanks to those who inspire us to aim higher.
