THE TOUR VICTORY WILL NOT HAPPEN OR IT’LL BE VERY DIFFICULT” – WILCO KELDERMAN ADMITS THAT TAKING DOWN TADEJ POGACAR WILL BE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE IN NEXT TWO STAGES
Wilco Kelderman, a key figure in the current Tour de France, has expressed his views on the daunting challenge of dethroning Tadej Pogačar. In an interview, Kelderman admitted that the possibility of taking down Pogačar in the upcoming stages is almost impossible, emphasizing the Slovenian rider’s exceptional form and strategic prowess.
“Tadej Pogačar is in phenomenal shape,” Kelderman noted. “His performance throughout the Tour has been nothing short of extraordinary. Competing against him is a massive challenge, and securing a victory over him in the next two stages will be incredibly difficult.”
Kelderman highlighted the physical and mental fortitude required to contend with Pogačar, acknowledging the reigning champion’s ability to dominate various terrains and his consistent display of strength. “Pogačar is not just a great climber; he’s also a formidable time trialist. His versatility makes him a tough competitor in any situation,” he added.
The upcoming stages present a formidable task for any rider hoping to challenge Pogačar. Kelderman pointed out the intricacies of the routes, noting that they play to Pogačar’s strengths. “The next stages are tailored for a rider of Pogačar’s caliber. He thrives in these conditions, and it’s hard to see anyone outpacing him.”
Despite the seemingly insurmountable odds, Kelderman remains focused on his own performance and strategy. “We have to remain optimistic and continue to push our limits. Anything can happen in the Tour de France, and we will give our best effort until the very end.”
Kelderman’s candid admission underscores the respect and recognition Pogačar commands in the cycling world. As the Tour approaches its climax, all eyes will be on whether anyone can mount a successful challenge against the reigning champion.
