“Whether it is his scene-stealing performances, his masterful influence or his comedic wit, Brett Goldstein knows how to connect with audiences…” Chris Brown Sings Roy Kent’s Praises After Starring In Ted Lasso…
‘Roy Kent’ To Delve Into Creating Top Content At NAB Show.
He’s an actor, writer and producer known to Apple TV+ viewers as “Roy Kent,” the retired soccer star and member of the AFC Richmond coaching staff on Ted Lasso.
He’ll be sharing his process in creating compelling content that resonates with audiences — something integrally important to broadcast radio and TV, let alone digital media choices siphoning audiences away from the thousands of NAB members in attendance at the NAB Show.
It’s slightly intriguing, as an association focused on broadcasters is putting an Apple TV+ star under its spotlight.
And, it’s perhaps a step toward incorporating elements of the now-defunct NATPE Miami conference into the NAB Show. At the NATPE affair, attention was given to such actors as Joel de la Fuente, at a time when Amazon Video’s “The Man in the High Castle” was being heavily promoted by the subscription-based video on demand (SVOD) platform.
While a SVOD star at a broadcasters’ conference may raise an eyebrow or two, what Goldstein has to share may apply to everyone in Las Vegas with a conference badge. During the session, open to all NAB Show attendees, Goldstein will discuss the challenges he faces in creating critically acclaimed and commercially successful content. He will draw on his multifaceted background to offer insight into what it takes to grab audiences’ attention in a world of near-unlimited platforms, channels and programming.
It should also be noted that Goldstein produces and hosts an iHeartRadio podcast, “Films to Be Buried With,” which finds him in candid conversations with special guests as they discuss the films that have shaped their lives.
“Whether it is his scene-stealing performances, his masterful influence on hit TV shows or his comedic wit on the stage and on-the-air, Brett Goldstein knows how to connect with audiences,” said Chris Brown, the NAB’s EVP/Managing Director for Global Connections and Events. “NAB Show attendees will greatly benefit from this must-attend conversation into how he creates content that stands out, captures our attention and entertains millions.”
